Welcome to the Seba Beach Library

Personal service and warm hospitality help to make the Seba Beach Library special.  From tiny tots to seniors everyone is welcome.  Located in the administration building of the Summer Village of Seba Beach the library sees a dramatic increase of patrons during the summer months due to the summer village status.  Our focus in the summer is on the children’s programs.  During the quieter winter months the focus is on adult programs.

Spring is here and our patrons are coming back!  There have been some changes at the library over the winter and we’d love to see you come and check them out!  The library has had a facelift and you’ll find new comfy furniture and a much more spacious, welcoming place.

We haven’t just changed the furniture, you asked us for Saturday hours on our satisfaction survey last year, so….you’ve got it! At present, the hours are as follows:

Tuesday     12:00-5:00

Thursday    10:00-5:00

Saturday    10:00-2:00

During July and August, we’re offering extended hours and will be open from 10:00 until 5:00 from Monday to Saturday.

Destination Jungle! at Seba Beach Public Library

The Summer Reading Club for 2010 is called Destination Jungle. Our SRC will run from July 5 until August 13 this year, with a Summer Reading Club Launch Party on July 5 that starts at 11:00 am with a showing of Where the Wild Things Are, followed by jungle cake.

Mr.Archie Lillico will be making a return visit for the opening on July 5 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm leading a program on drawing animals. Once again, this program will be pre-registered, and for those of you who squeezed in last year, you’ll be happy to know that we’ve purchased another table! Call us at the library to register as soon as possible, because this program is bound to fill up fast!

Regular programming will be offered during the summer, with sessions for pre-school to grade 3 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 – 11:30, and programming for grade 4 and up offered on Wednesdays and Fridays from 2:00 – 3:00 pm.  Saturday afternoons we’ll be showing a movie starting at 2:00 pm. As always, membership in the Summer Reading Club will be $2.00 for the duration of the program.

An additional donation from Servus Credit Union, Wabamun Branch, has helped to ensure that this year’s Summer Reading Club will be the best ever! We at the library are very grateful for the additional funds, and plan on passing them on to our Summer Reading Club participants in the form of extra prizes and programming.

Once again, the library will be participating in the Seba Beach Regatta with a used book sale on Saturday, July 31 from 10:30 until 12:30. It was a huge success last year, and we’re hoping for a repeat performance! As always, the library will be participating in the parade on Saturday afternoon….and this year, it will be amazing! The summer village of Seba Beach is celebrating its 90^th birthday, and nobody loves a party more than the library!

Seba Beach Public Library will have extended hours for the months of July and August and will be open Mon-Sat from 10am until 5pm.
